Paul Fattaruso

Paul handles complex, high-stakes cases. An experienced litigator for both plaintiffs and defendants, he has achieved successful outcomes in federal and state courts, arbitration, and through mediation. He provides trial and appellate representation across a range of practice areas including contract disputes, securities cases, class action, commercial tort, corporate valuation, real estate and construction, regulatory matters, and tax disputes.

Paul’s representative experience includes the following engagements:

  • Representing an international bank bringing claims against a trustee, collateral agent, custodian, and depositary in litigation related to the collapse of a billion-dollar mortgage-backed commercial paper facility
  • Representing a beverage company’s founder in a six-week valuation trial, resulting in a judgment of over $1 billion in the client’s favor
  • Representing the owner of a major professional sports franchise in a dispute with league executives
  • Representing a prominent family-owned company and its officers in a corporate dissolution matter brought by a minority stockholder
  • Representing a mortgage-backed security’s trustee in breach of representation and warranty claims against the mortgage originator and sponsor of a $900 million securitization
  • Representing South American investment and asset management entities and obtaining complete dismissal in dispute with former employee seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in carried interest
  • Representing a multinational medical device manufacturer in litigation arising from alleged breach of a $21.5 billion merger agreement, resulting in post-trial settlement
  • Representing the former CEO of a multi-billion-dollar international company in a defamation action against a former state Attorney General

During law school, Paul served as a judicial intern to Hon. Joseph L. Tauro of the District of Massachusetts. He holds a PhD and MFA in English and poetry, and taught writing and published two books before entering legal practice.
