Shavonn is a former federal and state prosecutor with extensive experience as a trial attorney handling complex matters and investigations. Before joining the firm, Shavonn was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Western District of North Carolina working in the Violent Crimes and Narcotics Section and the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force. There she directed investigations of joint federal and state task forces involving the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, the Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Postal Service, and state and county agencies.
Before serving as a federal prosecutor, Shavonn spent five years as an Assistant District Attorney within the Investigations Division of the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office in New York. Shavonn successfully prosecuted, investigated, and tried a wide array of high-profile criminal cases including murder for hire, drug trafficking, sexual assault, and firearms trafficking matters, and numerous multiagency, long-term, and complex investigations.
Shavonn also served as an attorney advisor for the Social Security Administration.
With her diverse investigation and trial experience, Shavonn provides a unique perspective on all aspects of litigation.
Outside the office, Shavonn is an adjunct professor at Elon University School of Law. Shavonn also enjoys performance art and is a lifelong New York Yankees fan.
